OPEN18 Young Photographers

29 September–27 October

Wed - Sun 11am-Wed - Sun 5pm

Brighton Photo Fringe is dedicated to the professional development of photographers and we want to create pathways for career development into the industry. This year, for the second time, Brighton Photo Fringe has launched an OPEN especially for photographers who are between 14 and 18 years old.

From an open call 20 photographers have been selected by a panel. The exhibited photographs have been professionally printed by our sponsor Metro Imaging and each photographer will be able to take theirs home to keep at the end of the festival. One winner will be selected from this shortlist to receive a £100 print voucher from our sponsors Metro Imaging – London’s most trusted and reliable pro lab – as well as a portfolio review with a professional photographer.

OPEN18 Young Photographers selection panel:

  • Kate O’Neill, BPF18 Festival Manager and Marketing and Partnership Manager, Metro Imaging
  • Becky Warnock, visual artist, activist, and member of Form Collective
  • Aliyah Otchere, Winner BPF16 Young Photographers Prize
  • Sunil Shah, artist and curator and graduate of BPF Emerging Curators Programme

Sponsored by Metro Imaging with funding from Arts Council England through Grants for the Arts and Brighton & Hove City Council and the Chalk Cliff Trust.
